Free from Condemnation
September 22, 2007Today's Scripture
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live and walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit” (Romans 8:1 AMP).
Today's Word
When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are free from condemnation! Is there something that you feel guilty about? If you have repented, the Bible says He takes your sin and throws it as far as the east is from the west. He casts your sins into the sea of forgetfulness. God actually chooses to forget your sins! That means your sins are completely removed. In fact, they aren’t even yours anymore. Don’t let the enemy dig up your past or try to make you feel guilty for something that happened a long time ago, or even yesterday. The enemy is called the “accuser of the brethren”, and he works overtime to bring you down with false accusations. Be confident that God doesn’t remember your past. You are free from condemnation through the blood of Jesus Christ. The next time the enemy brings up your past, declare that you are free from condemnation in Jesus’ Name!
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for setting me free in Jesus! Thank You for forgiveness. Thank You washing me clean and making me new today. I receive your grace and mercy so that I can be a vessel used by You today.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Speak What You Seek
September 20, 2007Today's Scripture
“And God said, 'Let there be light', and there was light” (Genesis 1:3).
Today's Word
God wanted there to be light, so He spoke it into existence. He wanted there to be water, land, and plants, so He declared them to be. Did you know, as a believer, that same creative power lives inside of you by the Holy Spirit? What are you speaking into existence in your life? Are you declaring the truth of God's Word that says you are the head and not the tail—that you are above only and not beneath? Listen to the words that come out of your mouth and speak what you seek! If you seek good health, declare that God is your Healer and that you will live strong and healthy all the days of your life. If you need provision for something, declare that God is your Provider. Be proactive and speak peace into your home. Speak God's protection over your family. Speak favor over your job. Decide and declare that today will be your best day to the Glory of God!
A Prayer for Today
Father in Heaven, today I submit my words to You. I invite You to search my mind and heart so that I may speak Your truth. Teach me what to say so that I can live the life of victory You have in store for me today.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
What Do You Hope For?
April 25, 2007Today's Scripture
"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
(Hebrews 11:1)
Today's Word
When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you made a commitment that brought you eternal life in God! You committed your life to something you could not see or feel, but that you had a hope in. Hope is what drives lost men and women to God, because everyone needs to have hope for something greater than what we can see here on earth. Hope is a powerful force for a believer. Having faith is being assured of what you hope for, not simply crossing your fingers and thinking hopeful thoughts. Hope in Christ provides courage and strength that help each person start a new life of confident hope and assurance. Keep your hope in God strong today, and rest confidently in that assurance.
A Prayer for Today
God, I know that my eternal hope is safe in You. Give me strength today and every day to stand strong in Your strength and live out my faith.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Hold on to Hope
February 19, 2007Today's Scripture
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." (John 10:10)
Today's Word
Satan wants you to give up and quit so he can have the victory in your life. But you can overcome him through the almighty power of God! Christ performed many miracles in the Bible, and He is still doing miracles today. The Bible says He is the same yesterday, today and forever. No matter what weapon the enemy may throw at you, it cannot penetrate the defense that Christ has put around you! Guard your hope, your joy, and your victory in Christ, because they are God-given blessings that He wants you to enjoy every day.
A Prayer for Today
God, do not allow the enemy to overcome me, but help me to guard my joy, my hope, and my victory in Christ, which are wonderful gifts from You!
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
What Are Your Goals?
February 5, 2007Today's Scripture
"I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back." (Philippians 3:13-14)
Today's Word
The reason it is so important for you to set and achieve goals is that you have a unique purpose that only you can fulfill. It's kind of like building your own house—something you had better not attempt without a clear vision of your goals and a good set of blueprints, or you may wind up with some extra doors or windows and no place to put them! God is the architect of your life. His Word is a blueprint of His hopes and plans for your life. Trust Him to help you set your goals. If you have a problem being focused and setting goals for your life, one of the best things you can do is to start writing them down, both short-term and long-term ones. It's amazing how your life can begin to take shape when you can see on paper where you want to go.
A Prayer for Today
God, thank You that You are the architect of my life. Give me the wisdom to follow Your blueprint and set goals that reflect Your desires for me.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Using Your Time Wisely
January 24, 2007Today's Scripture
"Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity." (Ephesians 5:15-16)
Today's Word
If you want to experience God's best, stay focused on Him and on the things that are truly important. There will always be a thousand interesting and even worthwhile things to fill up your time, but there's a good chance that most of those things will not help you live the best life that God has planned for you. There are many other activities you could get involved in that may be good in themselves; but if you try to do everything, you'll wind up being average at a lot of things and not excellent at anything! Those who are living their best life now have their priorities in order. They make time for key relationships. People are God's most precious creation and should be important in your life. Make sure to do what it takes to share quality time with those God has placed around you.
A Prayer for Today
God, I want to live the best life You have planned for me. Today, help me to keep my focus on You and the things that matter the most.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Be Yourself
January 10, 2007Today's Scripture
"Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly." (Romans 12:6)
Today's Word
The key to living a happy, fulfilling, satisfied life, is really very simple. Just be the person God made you to be, and have the courage to do what God called you to do. He has a unique and individual plan for your life, and the way to becoming a champion for God is to discover that plan and follow it wherever it may lead. But because you are human, it's easy for you to get distracted—many times, because you're trying too hard to please other people. Of course, there are legitimate demands on your time that must be met. The good news is that these things don't have to thwart God's plans for you. Just make it your desire to follow and please Him, and you won't be thrown off the path by life's demands and distractions.
A Prayer for Today
Lord, please help me today to use the abilities and gifts You have given me to honor You. Thank You for not expecting me to try and be someone other than the person You made me to be.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
Enjoy Life
January 3, 2007
Today's Scripture
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." (Psalm 23:6)
Today's Word
Many people never really manage to enjoy their lives. They spend day after day just going through the motions, hoping things will get better. Maybe you're one of them. If so, listen to this: Your life can be better. You can be the happy, healthy, victorious, and overcoming champion God made you to be! Everything you need to start enjoying life is already inside you. You just need a little help to bring it to the surface. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you and help bring out the best in you—because it's already there!
A Prayer for Today
Lord, I know that You have promised to give me everything I need to live a joy-filled life. Thank You for Your blessings, and help me to live a life of joy beginning today.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
Prepare for your blessings
December 29, 2006
Today's Scripture
"The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity…." (Deuteronomy 28:1)
Today's Word
God has a place of abundance in store for you! It's a place where all needs are supplied–a place of joy, happiness, and victory. But in order to experience all the great things that God has prepared, there are some conditions that need to be met in the natural. God already did His part to make provision for the blessing. You must do your part to obey the Word of God and aggressively pursue the abundant life that's rightfully yours.
In this new year, stir yourself up to pursue wholeheartedly the dreams God has placed in your heart. Don't settle for a life of mediocrity! Get the Word of God in your heart and walk in the abundant life God has for you. This can be your best year yet!
A Prayer for Today
God, There is no better time to come to You with a renewed spirit and a resolve to be Your disciple on earth. I am excited about the possibilities the new year brings and ask Your blessings for a victorious, abundant life!
In Jesus' Name – Amen.
What gifts will you bring?
December 23, 2006Today's Scripture
"On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down to worship Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him gifts…" (Matthew 2:11)
Today's Word
Can you imagine how the wise men felt as they first looked upon our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! As part of their worship, they wanted to give Him gifts. They gave valuable presents to symbolize the love, honor, and appreciation in their hearts. In the same way, you can show your love and appreciation as you give gifts to others.
As you celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ during this holiday season, remember to show your love and appreciation to those around you. Not just through material gifts, but through words of love, kindness, and encouragement. Go out of your way to show honor to others, just like the wise men went out of their way to show honor to Jesus.
A Prayer for Today
God, I will give of myself this season and honor the people in my life with my love, kindness and appreciation. In doing so, I honor You. Thank you for the gift of Your precious son.
In Jesus' Name – Amen.
Fall on your knees
December 19, 2006Today's Scripture
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" (Luke 2:14)
Today's Word
Christmas time is a good opportunity to share with others your excitement and to share the good news: Because Christ came to earth, you are free!
You can experience true peace and goodwill only when you have His Spirit in your life. "And His name shall be called Emmanuel, God with us."
Today, give Him praise as the multitude of heavenly host did on the day He arrived. As you glorify and worship Him this Christmas season, you will be filled with His love, peace, and joy. He is able to meet all your needs today.
God Bless You.
A Prayer for Today
God, it's easy for the true meaning of Christmas to get lost in the busyness of the season. Help me to experience Christmas with the wonder of a child. Just as the wise men did so long ago, I will fall down on my knees and worship the Christ child. Thank you for the gift of Your son.
In Jesus Name .. AMEN
God’s Blessing
December 13, 2006
Today's Scripture
"Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, 'Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may not pain me!' And God granted him what he requested."
(1 Chronicles 4:10)
Today's Word
God wants your year, your life and everything about you to be successful and wonderful. He wants you to be productive, prosperous and fulfilled in every way. God has so many wonderful blessings in store for you that if you could know them all, you would be overwhelmed with His goodness. In 1 Chronicles, a man named Jabez called out on the Lord and asked for the blessings that he knew God had for him – and don't you know, God answered his prayer! If Jabez could know God's favor, then you can today. The answer is simple, but amazing: you can ask the same favor from the Lord. Seek those blessings today.
A Prayer for Today
God, give me the strength to call upon Your name and seek what You have for me! Thank You for promising me a blessed life in Your Word.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
Think Big
December 12, 2006Today's Scripture
"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Today's Word
When you think about it, the people of this world have always seen much less than God intended to show them. Do you ever have trouble thinking big and trusting God for something big? If you do, you're not alone, because everyone has. But in order to experience all the blessings God has in store for you, you must step out of your small box and dive into the large box of God's love. Sometimes it's difficult to have a God-sized life view and expectations, but when you learn to really trust God, you'll see Him do great things for you.
A Prayer for Today
God, Your Word says that You are bigger than I could ever imagine, and I thank You for Your bigger plans for me. Give me the strength to trust You and expect You to do great things in my life.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.
That interview question…
December 11, 2006 You have to pick one…
You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die
2. An old friend who once saved your life
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?
Think before you continue reading…
This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer. He simply answered: "I would give the car
keys to my old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams."
Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations. Never forget to "Think Outside of the Box."
